The Canal du Nivernais is much appreciated for it’s rural charm and a great place to discover it from is the Etang de Baye. A huge reservoir surrounded by rolling countryside where the Canal du Nivernais perforates the hillside with the Voûtes de la Collancelle tunnel. It's a harmonious mix of rural France and early canal architecture and one that we at Boatshed Bourgogne enjoy visiting. Michel & Martine SICARD decided to drop anchor here almost thirty years ago and set up their waterways business Aqua Fluvial. An exceptional site Michel & Martine have a number of moorings for private craft. A repair yard with lift out facilities for boats up to 12 tons and a fleet of 10 hire boats available for a weeks hire or more and even short breaks if you’re really pushed for time. They also operate a 65 passenger, trip and restaurant boat which is solar electric powered. Michel is particularly proud of contribution to "green" cruising in the area. It is typical of his dedicated enthusiasm and professional approach. Perhaps as a result of this he enjoys an enviable reputation for quality work. His stainless steel guardrails and stern platforms are “signature” works. Bimini and cockpit tents as well as interior upholstery are another of his preferred domains as is fitting “Flexiteek” synthetic teak deck finishing.

Most of all when selling boats in the Aqua Fluvial marina we at Boatshed Bourgogne enjoy the warm "welcome with a smile" from a team of enthusiastic professionals.
