Work with the Yacht Broker that customers love: Boatshed’s digital platform and modular sales process have reinvented the business...
Boatshed’s unique Preferred Partners Scheme connects boat buyers with marine suppliers and service providers, internationally, nationally across the UK and locally. When buying a used boat from Boatshed, many of our buyers require equipment, accessories, sails, insurance, transportation, berthing facilities, upgrades and other essential products and services associated with boat ownership, maintenance, cruising and racing. Often, these are required immediately upon purchase of the boat, or soon thereafter, and are regarded by our customers as part and parcel of buying and equipping their ‘new’ boat.
Our BoatBid online boat auction site provides the perfect platform for specialist boat auctions for a versatile range of boats from Cruising boats to Commercial, classic wooden boats to luxury motor yachts, houseboats, inland waterways, contact us if you are interested in entering your boat into our next auction.
Boatshed have already sold hundreds of house boats in the UK and France. This month the Boatshed Data-Feed technology has been plugged into Rightmove.co.uk so we can find folks looking for a boat as an alternative to a house.
Getting regular updates from your yacht broker about sales activity on your boat is vital. As well as regular broker contact Boatshed offer all boat owners a secure area where they can obtain live information on the activity, viewings and sales data of their boat for sale.
As one of the largest international yacht brokers in the world, Boatshed is well known for selling just about any and all types of boats: sail or motor; compact or super-sized; budget or expensive; inland or ocean going, since 2001 we have dealt with everything that floats. In order to provide the very best service to our customers we have over the years developed a handful of specialist Boatshed brands which focus on the marketing and sale of certain specific types of boats;
We are always told that Boatshed's website and online platform for the sale of boats is 'the best in the industry', but our technical engineers are always trying to improve it. We have added new features to our website and boat search system to make these even easier and quicker for boat buyers and boat sellers to use.
An important part of what we do at Boatshed is help our owners’ boats stand out from the crowd and attract serious interest in a busy, often crowded marketplace. The strength of our website and IT platform, and the attention and importance our brokers place upon extensively photographing and detailing every aspect of a boat for sale, is a key part of that philosophy, but we are always devising new ways to support this effort.
This past fall we were in the fortunate position to effect a rescue of a victim whowas likely going to drown in the murky waters of the Canal Entre Champagne et Bourgogne (Canal de la Marne a la Saone). In mid September this year my wife Betsey, a friend: Maureen, and I were heading south in our boat the Maggie May towards Auxonne, where Maggie May was to spend the winter. We had successfully navigated the Souterrain de Balesmes two days before and had stopped on our second night from the tunnel at Piepape, PK 169.4, just above the Piepape Lock. We were travelling together with another boat, Le Farro, operated by an Australian friend of ours, Colin Jones.
Boatbid.com is an online auction site for used boats. Set a reserve, enter your boat into an auction and our clever algorithms will highlight potentially interested buyers from millions of boat viewings our systems collect and then match these buyers to your boat. Sellers can be confident as sales are still handled by trained and experienced brokers, and boats are still inspected and surveyed, with all the usual contractual requirement, giving buyers peace of mind.
If you are looking for a razzel dazzle boatbroker, Graham Wharmby of Boatshed Bourgogne is not your man.
Tukker? Never heard about a…….
Sometimes you meet some special people in the world of boat builders. People or a yard with long-term experience in special areas. One such yard is Tukker. Not a brand very well known in the world of recreational boating yet every time we saw one we noticed that each one was different yet with recognisable similarities. Where did they come from? That was the question.

With Belgian vendors wintering in Spain and an American buyer in Hawaii, Boatshed brokers Magali & Graham Wharmby of Boatshed Bourgogne managed the whole transaction in their absence.

After recently announcing their collaboration with specialist French estate agents Au Club des Vingt, Boatshed Midi Canals is delighted to announce another collaboration, this time with architect Virginie Druhout creator of the stunning motor yacht Joséphine designed expressly for cruising Europe’s inland waterways. The design brief specified that the vessel must be able to comfortably cruise Europe’s canals and rivers, even the restricted Canal du Midi but retain the style and luxury of an ocean going “Mega Yacht”. “I had the benefit of starting with a clean sheet of paper” said Virginie Drouhot, “and was able to create a two deck, twin screw, 30 meter motor yacht to inland waterway dimensions.” The result is an impressive blend of art, architecture and engineering with graceful curving exterior lines that sweep back to a sedan stern, for crew R&R whilst sculpted windows and port holes ensure light floods into the interior. Twin spiral staircases connect the upper and lower decks and a flying catwalk connects the upper lounge deck to the foredeck. There are four identical guest cabins forward with granite bathroom suites and two double crew cabins in the stern each with en-suite facilities. Graham Wharmby of Boatshed Midi Canals said, “I captained the Yacht Joséphine for the 2003 Tall Ships event at Rouen where she served as the Presidents Yacht. It was an experience of a lifetime and I am delighted that Virginie has agreed to work with us on barge and boat refit projects as well as new build projects, her talent and passion for her work are an inspiration and takes the services that we (and other members of the Boatshed Group) can propose to our clients to a new dimension.”
To cement the new collaboration Virginie was present at the recent “Open Castle” event presenting the design and project management services for both new build and refit projects that she and Boatshed Midi Canals can now offer.
