Broker's Comments
Boatshed Midi Canals are pleased to offer you a 1977, Guy Couach 1600 Fly , for sale in France. She is both spacious and comfortable. The boat is currently being use as a live aboard and works well as a home in the sun. The owner has told us that the beautiful morning where the boat lies will be available to the new owners.
The vessel is a GRP construction. GRP was a relatively new method of building boats in the seventies. Boat builders were still unsure of the long term expectations of these new materials. So to be sure of a good product, the boat builders used twice the amount of materials in the construction process. The resulting outcome was that these boats were over engineered. They quickly gained a reputation of being extremely robust and sturdy.
The present owners has a very good understanding of boats and has owned this boat for about 10 years. The owner's age has played a major part in the decision to sell his boat.
This Couach 1600 is realistically priced and would make a great home or an affordable cruiser with a inexpensive base in the south of France. Whilst this boat has a fly bridge, it's navigational range from it current mooring extends to the Sete and the Etang du Thou to the west and all of the Rhone to Lyon and north up the Saone. This Guy Couach has plenty of power to cope with the river's currents.
The mooring is in brackish waters with full access to the sea. Currently, mooring fees are €3500 per year, inclusive of unlimited 16a electricity, water and all taxes.
There is a 2019, 3.8m I inflatable tender with a 2014 mercury outboard motor included.
The motors are manufactured 2008 but were reconditioned in 2010 in readiness and prior to installation into this boat in 2010. They have had very little use and, make a sensible economical alternative to the original motors.
