Broker's Comments
The late and only owner sailed this classic wooden quarter tonner across the Irish Sea and in the Isle of Man race - I am told he came second twice. The family moved to Kent 18 years ago and the boat has stayed on her trailer ever since, properly protected from the elements.
The hull, keel and topsides appear to be in remarkably good condition and the interior is dry.
The mast has its original gold anodising, a very 1970's thing. The outboard engine, spade rudder and boom are stored in the cabin. The upholstery looks antique gold, another 1970s thing.
The wheels and tyres for the trailer were removed when the boat arrived so need to be put back on. The trailer looks to be in good condition, to me.
So this vessel is by no means a wreck, but she's a project boat, requiring new standing and running rigging and probably stanchions as the previous owner did not bother with guard rails!
This is a chance for the new owner to restore a performance classic.
Google "Waarschip quarter tonner" to get an idea of their reputation.
