Broker's Comments
This is a used boat and should be viewed as such. It is always in your best interest to have a survey completed on your behalf.
This fresh water Tartan 27 Hull #501 is a classic! Over 700 built between 1961 to 1980. This was an early fiberglass design by Sparkman & Stephens (Design#1617) and you will find a number of informative reviews, active owners groups. Owners say the Tartan 27 by today’s standards is solidly built, handles easily especially for shorthanded sailing as well as is forgiving, has a large cockpit, room below in her day, an excellent boat for the money. The shallow draft makes cleaning the bottom easy and many destinations easily accessible. A tried and true design, in its day and still a good value. The review by John Kretschmer of Sailing describe the Tartan 27 as a “Thin-water, singlehanded sailing and rocking reaches make this plastic classic fantastic”. Owner says engine runs great, the teak needs some work and the sails still have some good sailing in them. Give me a call with you questions or to arrange to see this classic Tartan 27 in person.
