Broker's Comments
The Laurent Giles 38 is, in my opinion, one of the most elegant offshore cruising boats there is and finding one in this condition is just an absolute joy!
Undoubtedly her iconic design, original build quality and traditional craftsmanship make her what she is however, what sets this particular Laurent Giles 38 apart is how lucky she is! To have an owner with boatyard and a skilled workforce meant she had a full refit in 2000 and since then she has been sailed, meticulously maintained and absolutely and unconditionally loved!
I would wax lyrical about her all day but instead I would like to invite you to come and have a look for yourself. When I step aboard I just don't want to leave, except under sail into a stiff breeze!
Survey (insurance) 2024 - summarises:
"This Laurent Giles 38 is a very strong and well-built vessel, designed by a well-recognised naval architect. As per her previous survey, she was presented in exceptionally good condition for her age, and there were no obvious serious or urgent issues found during the inspection. Very unusually, she is unrigged and stored ashore under cover when out of commission each year and she has always been subject to a continuing and very thorough maintenance programme by a caring and experienced owner over the last decade".
