Broker's Comments

The Westerly Centaur A model was the first incarnation of this hugely and rightly popular family cruiser which stole the limelight of the small yacht market back in the late sixties and early seventies; in the UK at least. Still the biggest selling production run of any British builder I believe and unlikely to be exceeded in our ever changing but increasingly sophisticated world. Although individual Centaurs have sailed many thousands of miles and crossed oceans they are now regarded as coastal cruisers, week-enders and day sailors even, but the capability remains for those who seek adventure further afield. Roomy, stable and with a good sailing ability commensurate with their size they are a yacht unlikely to disappoint the practical yachtsman of today. Our model here is keenly priced to sell, to take account of her rather sad headlining (a Westerly speciality) and generally elderly equipment. Her engine has been regularly started and runs well we are told but due to ill health and advancing years her owner has not had many sailing opportunities for a couple of years. She is due to be lifted ashore on 1st November 2016. (Photo's taken 17/10/16)
Update:- She has now been lifted and washed. Not surprisingly there are osmosis blisters on the hull. Price reduced accordingly.
