Broker's Comments
Varne is a British sailing yacht, built in Essex by Varne Marine. Nordic Folkboats are well known and regarded and the Varne Folkboat featured a short stern deck, thereby providing a larger Saloon than most Folkboats. The hull design has seakeeping and sailing performance in mind, flared at the topsides, making for a drier ride. The boat is designed to perform well in light airs and as the hull heels it rapidly gains stability, aided by the ballast ratio.
This version is estimated to be 1980 and shows all of these design characteristics, in addition to sails that look to be in good condition and of course it is complete with an inboard engine. With a power wash and engine service, this little ship should demonstrate that surprising things come in little packages. A capable pocket cruiser at an affordable price, which is well worth considering. If you would like to know more or to arrange a viewing, please contact our office and we would be pleased to help.
