This was undoubtedly the most popular craft produced by the Seamaster factory. Introduced in late 1965 and, excluding hull and superstructure sales, over 600 were completed by the time it was withdrawn in 1974. The Seamaster 27 is an excellent river, estuary and inshore boat but was not designed for rough sea work or greater than force 5 to 6 winds.
The Seamaster 27 was without doubt Seamaster's big success story. The craft was an in house development of the Seamaster 25 Admiral. The hull design is a hard chine smoothing out to a shallow V towards the stern. There is a moulded keel and usually small bilge keels. The conventional shaft driven system was fitted with Wortham Blake/Ford engines, BMC 1.5 diesels and Perkins 4.107/4.108 diesels. This one has the BMC.

One of the most popular crafts produced by Seamaster, the 27 'Springfield' makes an excellent river, estuary or inshore cruiser, built around 1970 and fitted with twin BMC, diesel engines. A well equipped galley and small forward cabin provide comfortable accommodation for overnight trips or weekends away. This is a inexpensive boat, ideal for someone looking for a small project where some modernisation is required. You can moor here here on a finger berth from £1,950 for 12 months at Medway Bridge Marina, please ask for further details.
