Broker's Comments

A budget trailer sailer from the seventies, the Calypso is a jolly little yacht which might suit a dinghy sailer looking for simple accommodation, perhaps introducing a young family to Swallows and Amazons adventures? This example has been recently refurbished with a respray and new upholstery but a new owner would be certain to add an outboard motor (4hp should be more than enough) and perhaps a compass, VHF and handheld GPS if venturing out of sight of land. With her twin lifting bilge plates and dinghy like hull form she should offer satisfying performance in sheltered waters and would be very much at home locally with an ability to take the ground in drying harbours. The road trailer should be regarded as a launching/yard trolley although she did make the journey from Tenby to Neyland (15 miles) ok.
