Broker's Comments

Designed by CJ Roy and stretched by Atlanta Marine, the Atlanta Viking 8.5 is sturdy, sea-kindly and surprisingly spacious for her LOA. This is the bilge keeled model allowing you to explore shallow creeks and moor in confidence on tidal moorings or berths. The hull looks to be in good condition and the rudder bracket was recently replaced and provides good prop protection.

Control lines leading aft to the deep cockpit, a furling genoa and tiller pilot all help to make short handed sailing easier. The deck is easy to move around and there is a windlass fitted to help with anchoring. Apart from the absence of a chart plotter, the Nav fit is more than capable and she has good electrical backup from both wind and solar power.

This example seems to have all the added creature comforts too. Pressurised water throughout, a shower and a holding tank. There’s also Webasto cabin heating, a fridge box, shore power hook up and a full modern cooker.

With the double berthed forward cabin, separate heads compartment and homely saloon, she would be equally happy being used as a family coastal cruiser, mobile live aboard or weekend single hander. She ticks a lot of boxes at a reasonable price.
