Broker's Comments
Boatshed Wales is pleased to present for sale this Q Boats International Q 26 General Service Inspection Launch.
Originally commissioned by the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries for Scotland in July 1981, this boat has since been repurposed as a private leisure craft.
Built to rigorous commercial standards, Q Boats developed a line of vessels for fire-fighting, police, ambulance, fishing, surveying, crew transport, and piloting. All models were designed for exceptional seaworthiness, with robust stability, built-in buoyancy, high-speed performance, and shallow-draft capabilities.
Named "Skua," this vessel was designed as a General Service Vessel and features a large aft deck and a sturdy pilothouse with essential amenities, including a sink, cooker, sea toilet, and twin berths.
She is powered by twin Volvo AQAD 40 diesel engines and twin Volvo 280 stern drives, providing substantial power. While the port engine is operational, it is losing oil, likely due to a failed sump pan.
The boat requires some mechanical and cosmetic attention but provides a solid foundation for improvement.
The price reflects the work needed—a fantastic project with the potential for highly rewarding results.
