This yacht has been set up in racing configuration, winch configuration as follows:
• 2 x Lewmar 40 2 speed self tailing sheet winches
• 2 x Lewmar 7 single speed coachroof mounted halyard winches
• 2 x Lewmar 7 single speed cockpit mounted spinnaker winches
• 1 x Lewmar 8 mast mounted reefing winch

Built in 1980 to the later mark 2 design, she has a solid GRP hull with lead ballast encapsulated into the keel. The deck is a GRP sandwich construction with a smooth inner skin and internal mouldings. The Z Spar mast is keel stepped and steering is by tiller with extension to a skeg-hung moulded rudder.

Sleeps 5 in 2 cabins; double V berth in forepeak (with hatch) and hanging locker. Forward cabin and heads can be closed off using the heads door. Additional underbunk storage. The saloon, with standing headroom, provides a further 2 single berths with underbunk storage and the quarterberth is located to port aft of the navigation area with the galley area to starboard abeam of the companionway. Internal upholstery is in good condition throughout.
• Heads compartment with manual WC and slide out sink unit
• Port forward facing chart table with ample chart and fiddled storage
• Galley with built-in cool box, single stainless steel sink and Origo 2 burner meths stove. There is space for a more conventional marine cooker if required

Comentario del broker
This Ballad is an extremely well presented and maintained yacht. Her hull below the waterline was sand blasted in 2010 and coated with 2 coats of Gelshield 2000.
She is currently set-up for local club racing but could with further investment be converted into a safe, seakindly cruiser/racer. Previous Ballads have been entered into the famous Jester Challenge Cross Atlantic race.
