How does a Newporter know it’s spring? It could be the flock of daffodils as you enter America’s Cup Blvd. Maybe it’s the trees and gardens in full bloom along Bellevue Avenue. For some it could be their first cocktail on the patio at O’Brien’s Pub.

For Boatshed Newport it’s the sight of that one lonely sail boat floating quietly in the mooring field waiting for the rest of the yachts to tie up for the summer. We took a walk today to take in all of the sights and sounds of this gorgeous city and took stalk of all the things that let us know spring has arrived.

As we strolled through Newport Shipyard it was clear things were coming to life. The Bareboat Charter Fleet glistened after their first wash down of the season. There were finally boats resting in their slips awaiting their first journey of the year. Soon the J class will be racing on Thursday evenings at Fort Adams Park and Sail Newport will have their sailing school in full swing drawing more enthusiasts into our passion for yachting.

The start of the season marks a busy time for Boatshed Newport and we’re up for the challenge. Keep a look out for us around town and feel free to contact Rob and Ali at any time.
